About the destinations
One of the most fortunate cities in Greece. Situated at the apex of the crystal-blue Messinian Bay and at the foot of the imposing Mount Taygeto. Kalamata is the ideal base for those who want to discover the secrets of Messinia. The Old town of Kalamata is considered the best place, where one can start the tour. Wandering through the narrow streets and you will have the feeling of being in another time and you will have the opportunity to discover old buildings that still stand there, dozens of houses, stone churches, museums and shops with local products.

Koroni is a picturesque village, built on a hill right above the Messinian gulf. where the houses look as if they are stacked one on top of another. It has an imposing Venetian castle (partly ruined of course), a harbor well sheltered from all but Northerlies which is home to a number of fishing boats. Waterfront restaurants/tavernas provide a wide-ranging selection of mouth-watering dishes. The area is renowned for its olive oil, fresh fish, sandy beaches (one of which is a turtle nesting site).

The magnificent villages of Haravgi and Kazarma, with its necklace of exquisite mountain lakes and pools with tiny turquoise waterfalls and castle ruins. Reachable only by foot, but an easy walk and the water will certainly cool you off.

Methoni is one of the largest castles in the Mediterranean with great historic architecture, scenic village and surroundings. The impressive very well preserved castle is standing on the beach, overlooking the Ionian Sea.
