How did you get started in creating art and how does it enrich your life?
Art has always been a part of my life, as my mother is an artist and she has always encouraged my interest, and engaged me in creative activities. As a kid I went to art classes, however as a teenager and in my 20s my art exposure was through exhibitions and art galleries. I re-started painting a year and a half ago and I decided to try abstract art and found it absolutely fascinating it is a brand new way to express myself and it makes me feel happy and fulfilled.
Please share on your learning experience and what you like about My Art Space
When you paint you have to be brave and you have to trust yourself. It is also important to choose the right tutor, the person who inspires you and is able to guide you in the right direction and I have been lucky to find that at My Art Space.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given about creating art?
To have patience to learn and to keep exploring your paintings and how they make you feel.
What's your favourite artwork?
There are many artworks I love but two that stand out are A Sunday on La Grande Jatte by Georges Seurat and Las Meninas by Diego Velasquez.
What are you trying to communicate with your art?
I am still in the beginning of my journey, but the main concept of my paintings so far is feeling through colour. Since all my paintings are abstract the emotional message is in the different colours and textures I use and the feeling a person gets when they look at it and observe it.
Tell us what plans you have for your art future?
Keep exploring and experimenting with my work.
