I am interested to covey my emotions more through my paintings. I hope that my audience can have their emotions evoked when they lay their eyes on my painting within a few seconds.

How does art enriches your life?

Art has been part of my life since young. It is a place where I can express my emotions and integrate my heart and mind. The canvas gives me a new voice to communicate with my audience how I think and feel.

Please share on your learning experience and what you like about My Art Space

I enjoy the painting experience in My Art Space. The crowd is friendly and I like it when everyone enjoys what they are doing. I am still learning a lot from Chankerk, Shan and Matthew. They are not just teachers but artists who are serious about their art and are actively selling and creating new pieces. I see diversity and unity at the same time. They offer their opinions and respected each other’s point of view. Sometime I will ask the same question to the three of them and I will receive three very different answers. That is very helpful in the creative process.

What is your creative process like?

I will “like” a lot of artists on my Facebook and let those paintings inspire me towards something. I am more sensitive to figures and faces especially our elderly folks so I will take more notice whenever I pass them by. Praying and worshipping God also gives me new inspiration to do something differently. In fact, this creative process was reignited one night when I was browsing through photos on My Art Space Facebook and God impressed on my heart to begin this creative process hence I came to My Art Space to learn. To me, this is a partnership with God so im dependent on Him for the creative process.

What are you trying to communicate with your art?

Right now, I’m just painting my love ones and occasionally doodle something else to “refresh my palette” I’m moving on to different subjects but im still thinking about it and exploring various ideas. I am interested to covey my emotions more through my paintings. I hope that my audience can have their emotions evoked when they lay their eyes on my painting within a few seconds. The interpretation of the painting can come at a later time.

Tell us what plans you have for your art future?

I do have something in the works but it is confidential now as I’m not sure if my collaborator would like me to share. I will share it when the time is appropriate. For personal growth, I am looking towards artists from China and Russia. Chankerk has recommended me to start a sketch book so that my skills can be honed. I appreciate his guidance and I will start one soon. Right now, I am still cultivating a habit of drawing and sketching whenever I have time. This is a new lifestyle habit for me.
