Shirley turns her eye on the motivations and desires that drive human beings in this second exhibition of her paintings, “I Want…” Exploring the dreams that people harbour at different points in their lives using her characteristically colourful palette, the artist invites viewers to embark on this journey with her and discover the passion that makes life worth living.
About The Artist
Shirley Poh’s colourful paintings are inspired by her meditations on life. Interacting with many people from disparate backgrounds made her realise that many of her concerns are actually universal and not solely hers alone. Her keen interest in human community is reflected in the fact that her figures always come in groups of three or more, the lowest plurality to form a community, for it is within a community that the richness and variegation of life can be expressed most fully.
